Yashasvi Jaiswal's Explosive Performance Leads Rajasthan Royals to Dominant Total Against Mumbai Indians

Rajasthan Royals Set the Stage in Guwahati

In a thrilling encounter at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati, Rajasthan Royals (RR) posted an impressive score of 150 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in just 11 overs, thanks to a stellar performance by Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi against Mumbai Indians (MI).

Opting to bat first, Jaiswal showcased his explosive batting skills, remaining unbeaten with a remarkable 77 runs off only 32 deliveries, which included 10 fours and 4 sixes. Sooryavanshi also contributed significantly with a quick-fire 39 runs off 14 balls, helping RR establish a commanding total in a match curtailed by rain.

The opening partnership between Jaiswal and the 15-year-old Sooryavanshi was aggressive from the start. Jaiswal targeted Deepak Chahar, scoring 22 runs in the first over, hitting four boundaries and a six. The onslaught continued as Jasprit Bumrah's first over yielded 14 runs, including two sixes from Sooryavanshi.

Trent Boult struggled as well, conceding another 22 runs in the third over, leaving RR at a staggering 58 runs without loss after just 3 overs.

In an effort to regain control, Mumbai Indians' captain Hardik Pandya bowled a tight over, allowing only 4 runs and momentarily halting the RR momentum.

Shardul Thakur entered the attack and, despite being hit for two sixes by Sooryavanshi, managed to dismiss the young talent on the last ball of his over, leaving RR at 80 for 1 after five overs.

Spinner Allah Ghazanfar made an impact in the sixth over, taking the wicket of Dhruv Jurel for just 2 runs. However, Jaiswal continued his assault, ending the over with a boundary, bringing RR to 89 for 2 after 6 overs.

Bumrah returned for the seventh over, conceding only 8 runs, which brought RR's score to 97 for 2. Pandya's eighth over saw Jaiswal reach his fifty in just 23 balls, with Riyan Parag finishing the over with a six.

Ghazanfar struck again, claiming the wicket of RR captain Riyan Parag but also allowing 12 runs, leaving RR at 122 for 3 after nine overs.

Bumrah's final over was slightly more successful for MI, as he restricted RR to 10 runs, bringing their total to 132 for 3 after 10 overs.

In the last over, Thakur faced Jaiswal's relentless attack, who smashed three boundaries, helping RR finish with a total of 150 runs in 11 overs.

To secure their second win of IPL 2026, Mumbai Indians need to chase down a target of 151 runs, while the Riyan Parag-led RR aims for their third consecutive victory.
