On Tuesday, young batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi made headlines by hitting two massive sixes off Jasprit Bumrah in the very first over bowled by the Indian fast bowler.

Yashasvi Jaiswal, the Rajasthan Royals opener, praised his 15-year-old teammate for alleviating the pressure with his stunning batting display during the Royals' 27-run victory over the Mumbai Indians on a rain-affected evening in Guwahati.

The match was highly anticipated as it marked the initial clash between the formidable pacer and the teenage talent. Sooryavanshi did not disappoint, launching a 131kph delivery from Bumrah over mid-on for a six on his very first ball, followed by another six in the same over.

In response, the Mumbai Indians could only muster 123 runs for 9 wickets, suffering their second consecutive defeat, while the Rajasthan Royals soared to the top of the standings with three victories from three matches.

The left-handed batsman from Bihar was acquired by the Rajasthan Royals for Rs 1.1 crore during the 2025 IPL mega auction. He previously showcased his extraordinary skills by becoming the youngest player to score a century in T20 cricket and the second-fastest in IPL history, achieving a remarkable 35-ball hundred against the Gujarat Titans last season.

Sooryavanshi continued his aggressive approach on Tuesday, even with Bumrah starting with the new ball. He struck two of his four sixes off the pacer in the opening over, setting a brisk pace with a quickfire 39 runs off just 14 balls.
