RCB's Dominant Display Against CSK

Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], April 6: After securing a victory against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batsman Tim David reflected on his impressive innings, crediting the support of teammates Jitesh Sharma and Romario Shepherd, as well as batting coach Dinesh Karthik, for his success.

David showcased his power-hitting skills, smashing CSK bowlers for three fours and eight towering sixes in a blistering 25-ball innings of 70 not out. His partnership with captain Rajat Patidar, which lasted 35 balls, propelled RCB to a formidable total of 250/3.

In his post-match comments, David expressed satisfaction with his performance, stating, “I’m obviously very pleased with my innings. It doesn’t always go that way. Skipper Rajat was on fire, and I was able to take advantage of that. Reaching a high score puts pressure on the opposition, which is fantastic.” He also mentioned his adaptability in batting positions, saying, “I’m fortunate to have the confidence from my preparation and the support of my teammates and coaching staff, which is invaluable.”

David continued, “Having the chance to bat with Jitesh and Sheppy behind me boosts my confidence. The preparation we do here is crucial. Working with DK, who has immense experience in these conditions, has been beneficial as we focus on various aspects while maintaining our core strengths.”

RCB set a daunting target of 250 runs after being asked to bat first against the five-time champions CSK. Despite Virat Kohli (28 off 18 balls) and Phil Salt (46 off 30 balls) failing to convert their starts, aggressive innings from Padikkal (50 off 29 balls), Patidar (48* off 19 balls), and David (70* off 25 balls) ensured a massive score for RCB.

In response, CSK struggled early, finding themselves at 30/3. Sarfaraz Khan provided some resistance with a quickfire 50 off 25 balls, while Prashant Veer (43 off 29 balls) and Jamie Overton (37 off 16 balls) added a 57-run partnership. However, CSK ultimately fell short, finishing at 207 runs in 19.4 overs.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the standout bowler, taking 3 wickets for 41 runs in four overs, marking his milestone of 200 IPL wickets. Krunal, Abhinandan, and Jacob Duffy also contributed with two wickets each.
