RCB Welcomes Back Key Players for IPL 2025

New Delhi, India - On May 15, Australian cricketer Tim David has rejoined the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) for the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season. Alongside him, all-rounder Romario Shepherd and fast bowler Lungi Ngidi have also been added to the RCB roster, as reported by a sports media outlet.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had temporarily halted the lucrative league on May 8 due to escalating tensions between India and Pakistan. However, the IPL is set to resume on May 17, with RCB facing off against the defending champions, Kolkata Knight Riders, at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Additionally, England's Liam Livingstone has joined RCB, while Jacob Bethell has already returned to the squad.

Shepherd is traveling with his West Indies teammates, including Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, and KKR mentor Dwayne Bravo. He is also part of the West Indies ODI team for their upcoming tour of England, which begins on May 29, coinciding with the IPL 2025 playoffs.

Currently, there has been no official word from Cricket West Indies regarding Shepherd's availability for the IPL post-May 29. Bethell has been selected for England's upcoming white-ball series against the West Indies, while Livingstone has been omitted from both the ODI and T20I squads.

The England Cricket Board (ECB) has issued no-objection certificates (NOCs) for all players participating in the IPL until May 25, the original date for the IPL 2025 final. Consequently, Bethell was not included in England's squad for the four-day Test match against Zimbabwe starting May 29, according to the sports media outlet.

Ngidi is also part of the Test squad for the World Test Championship final against Australia in June. Currently, RCB holds the second position in the league with 16 points, having secured eight victories and suffered three losses.
