T Natarajan Reflects on Delhi Capitals' Narrow Defeat and Team Spirit

Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India] - April 10: T Natarajan, a bowler for the Delhi Capitals (DC), expressed that the team is feeling emotional following their narrow one-run defeat to the Gujarat Titans (GT) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Wednesday.
In pursuit of a challenging target of 211 runs, Delhi Capitals found themselves just two runs shy of victory with only two balls remaining, as veteran South African batsman David Miller was at the crease. However, Miller opted not to take a single on the second-to-last ball, choosing to face the final delivery himself. He ultimately missed the last ball, leading to Kuldeep Yadav being run out by wicketkeeper Jos Buttler while attempting a quick single.
Reflecting on the team's morale after such a tight loss, T Natarajan acknowledged the emotional impact but emphasized the importance of staying positive and united. He stated that the team functions like a family and is confident in their ability to recover as the tournament unfolds.
“Certainly, the team feels emotional after such a close match, but this is a lengthy tournament, and we are just getting started. We are a tight-knit group, almost like family. We focus on supporting one another, maintaining a positive outlook, and enjoying our time together. We know we possess the talent to bounce back effectively,” T Natarajan remarked during the pre-match press conference ahead of their game against CSK.
T Natarajan also commended the Delhi Capitals' bowling lineup, noting its impressive performance and depth in both spin and pace, with contributions from players like Mukesh Kumar.
“Our bowling unit has been performing exceptionally well. We have world-class spinners and skilled pacers in our ranks. Mukesh Kumar and our spinners are all making significant contributions. Overall, we boast a very robust bowling attack,” he added.
As DC aims to recover from their narrow defeat, CSK is eager to break their three-match losing streak and secure their first win of the IPL 2026 season.
