Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India] - April 28: Suryakumar Yadav, a key player for the Mumbai Indians (MI), is just nine runs shy of overtaking the iconic Kieron Pollard to become the franchise's second-highest run-scorer.

This achievement could come during MI's upcoming clash with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at Wankhede Stadium on Tuesday.

Currently, Suryakumar ranks third in MI's all-time run charts, having accumulated 3,907 runs across 121 matches and 119 innings, boasting an impressive average of 37.56 and a strike rate of 151.14, which includes two centuries and 29 fifties. Pollard holds the second position with 3,915 runs from 211 matches and 193 innings, averaging 28.78 with a strike rate of 147.01, featuring 18 fifties.

Rohit Sharma leads the list as MI's top run-scorer, amassing 6,289 runs in 240 matches and 236 innings, with an average of 29.93 and a strike rate of 132.72, including two centuries and 41 fifties.

Reaching 93 runs would also mark Suryakumar as the second MI player to cross the 4,000-run milestone.

Despite his potential, Suryakumar's IPL season has been underwhelming, with only 157 runs in seven innings at an average of 22.42 and a strike rate of 142.72, including one fifty.

After a resurgence earlier this year, highlighted by strong performances against New Zealand and a remarkable 84* against the USA in the T20 World Cup opener in February, Suryakumar's form has dipped again. In the 15 innings following that match, he has managed just 315 runs at an average of 21 and a strike rate of 132.35, with only one half-century.
