SRH Ends RR's Winning Streak

In a thrilling IPL 2026 match held in Hyderabad on Monday, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) secured a convincing 57-run victory against Rajasthan Royals (RR), putting an end to RR's four-match winning streak. The match was highlighted by the impressive performances of two young Indian debutants who played a crucial role in SRH's success.

The uncapped players, Praful Hinge and Sakib Hussain, combined to take eight wickets, effectively dismantling the RR batting lineup as they chased a target of 217 runs.

Varun Aaron, SRH's bowling coach, expressed his excitement, stating, "There’s nothing better for a bowling coach than to have two debutants feature on the best debut list in the all-time IPL list. It’s brilliant. Their hard work and talent truly shone through today."

Hinge, aged 24, was awarded Player of the Match for his outstanding debut, claiming four wickets. He achieved this remarkable feat by dismissing Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Dhruv Jurel, and Lhuan-dre Pretorius in his very first over, followed by the RR captain Riyan Parag in his next over, concluding his spell with impressive figures of 34 runs for 4 wickets.

In an Instagram video shared by IPL, Hinge expressed his emotions, saying, "I can’t describe the feeling. It’s unreal. I had somehow manifested this thing that when I play the first match of the IPL, I will dominate in the first over or in the power play. So, it’s fun to do this thing live now."

Entering this match with only one win from their previous four games, SRH introduced these two young bowlers to the IPL stage. Aaron advised them to treat the game as if they were playing in their backyard with friends, encouraging them to enjoy the experience.

Sakib Hussain, who opened the bowling alongside Hinge, made an immediate impact by taking the crucial wicket of Yashasvi Jaiswal in his first over. He later dismissed Donovan Ferreira, Jofra Archer, and Ravi Bishnoi, finishing with figures of 24 runs for 4 wickets.

Reflecting on his journey, Hussain shared, "My journey started with tennis ball cricket. My coach, Robin Singh, saw me and supported me a lot. Varun Bhai noticed me during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) and encouraged me, saying I could do well. I owe a lot to Varun Bhai for his guidance over the past few months."

Currently, SRH is positioned fourth in the points table with two victories out of five matches. They are set to face Chennai Super Kings in their next encounter on Saturday at their home ground.
