Post-Match Insights from SRH's Coach

In Ahmedabad, following a significant defeat against the Gujarat Titans, Sunrisers Hyderabad's head coach, Daniel Vettori, commended the Titans' bowling attack, labeling them as a "formidable team."

The Titans, after scoring 168 runs for the loss of five wickets, showcased their bowling prowess, with Mohammed Siraj and Kagiso Rabada dismantling the SRH batting lineup, leading to an all-out score of just 86. This marked SRH's largest loss in IPL history by runs, allowing GT to ascend to the top of the points table with 16 points.

During the post-match press conference, Vettori acknowledged the challenge posed by GT's five seamers and star spinner Rashid Khan, stating, "GT's performance was exceptional, and they applied significant pressure with their bowling. The opening duo of Rabada and Siraj set the tone effectively. We struggled to get off to a good start, and their bowling was outstanding."

He further emphasized GT's adaptability, noting their capability to score high totals like 220 or 230 when necessary, and praised their ability to perform well in challenging, bowling-friendly conditions.

In the match, SRH chose to bowl first, and despite a shaky start for GT at 26 for 2, Sai Sudharsan's 61 runs off 44 balls, along with Washington Sundar's 50 off 33, helped stabilize the innings. They managed to reach a total of 168 runs in their allotted overs.

For SRH, Praful Hinge and Sakib Hussain delivered commendable bowling performances, taking two wickets each, while captain Pat Cummins had a solid spell, conceding only 20 runs in four overs.

In their batting response, Mohammed Siraj made an immediate impact by dismissing Travis Head for a duck. Kagiso Rabada's impressive figures of 3 for 28 dismantled the top order, leaving SRH struggling at 32 for 4 within just over five overs.

Jason Holder and Prasidh Krishna then wrapped up the innings, skittling SRH for a mere 86 runs, with Cummins being the top scorer at 19.

Rabada's exceptional performance earned him the 'Player of the Match' title.

With eight victories and four losses, GT remains at the top of the table with 16 points, while SRH has dropped to third place with seven wins and five losses, totaling 14 points.
