Shubman Gill's Stellar Performance Leads Gujarat Titans to 210 Against Delhi Capitals
Gujarat Titans Set a Challenging Target
In a thrilling encounter at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi on Wednesday, Shubman Gill showcased his leadership skills, guiding the Gujarat Titans to a formidable total of 210 runs against the Delhi Capitals in match 14 of the IPL 2026.
Opting to bat first, the Titans got off to a solid start with Gill returning to captain the side after recovering from an injury that kept him out of the previous match. However, Sai Sudharsan was dismissed early, bowled by Mukesh Kumar for just 12 runs in the third over.
Jos Buttler stepped in next and quickly made his mark, hitting boundaries off Axar Patel and Mukesh Kumar. He reached his half-century in a mere 24 balls, scoring 52 runs from 27 deliveries, including three fours and five sixes, before being dismissed by Kuldeep Yadav in his opening over.
Washington Sundar joined Gill at the crease, and together they forged a significant 104-run partnership. Gill was the more aggressive of the two, scoring 70 runs off 45 balls, featuring four fours and five sixes, until he was caught out by Nitish Rana off Lungi Ngidi's bowling.
Sundar also reached his half-century but fell victim while attempting to increase the scoring rate in the final overs, finishing with 55 runs from 32 balls, which included six fours and two sixes.
In the closing stages, Glen Phillips and Rahul Tewatia helped the Titans reach a total of 210/4, adding crucial runs with boundaries in the last two overs.
Mukesh Kumar was the standout bowler for the Capitals, claiming two wickets, while Lungi Ngidi and Kuldeep Yadav each took one wicket.
The Delhi Capitals, who remain unbeaten in the tournament with two victories, now face the challenge of chasing down 211 runs to maintain their winning streak. Meanwhile, the Gujarat Titans are eager to secure their first win of the season and will aim to defend their total effectively.
