Shubman Gill is merely 25 runs shy of reaching 4,000 runs in the IPL, a significant achievement that would further emphasize his status as one of the league's most dependable top-order batsmen.
The captain of the Gujarat Titans has played a pivotal role in the team's batting lineup, showcasing a blend of elegant stroke play and enhanced leadership skills at the forefront.
Currently, the right-handed batsman has accumulated 3,975 runs over 120 IPL matches and 117 innings, boasting four centuries and 27 half-centuries with an average of 39.75.
On the other hand, Jos Buttler is nearing a remarkable global milestone in T20 cricket, needing just 39 runs to hit 14,000 runs in this format. This achievement would position him as only the fifth player in history to reach this landmark, underscoring his enduring presence and success across various leagues.
Buttler has scored 13,961 runs in 496 T20 matches and 467 innings, with eight centuries and 99 half-centuries to his name. His average stands at 34.98, complemented by an impressive strike rate of 146.24.
Additionally, Vijay Dahiya, the assistant coach of the Gujarat Titans, has praised Shubman Gill for his leadership and cricketing acumen ahead of the IPL showdown against the Lucknow Super Giants.
When asked about Gill's captaincy and his ability to inspire confidence within the team, Dahiya expressed that he felt unqualified to evaluate Gill's leadership, noting that the Indian cricket setup has already recognized his capabilities.
“I don’t think I need to rate him. India has already rated him as the Test captain. I believe he is phenomenal and a brilliant student of the game, which is exactly what you want to see,” Dahiya remarked during the pre-match press conference.
