Sai Sudharsan's Perspective on IPL

New Delhi [India] - April 7: Sai Sudharsan, the opener for Gujarat Titans (GT), has expressed that the Indian Premier League (IPL) should primarily be viewed as an opportunity for personal development and performance enhancement, rather than merely a pathway to re-enter the national team.

During a pre-match press briefing before GT's upcoming game against Delhi Capitals (DC) on Wednesday, Sudharsan underscored the significance of adaptability and thorough preparation.

“The IPL is one of the most significant platforms available. My approach is to give my best, remain adaptable, and prepare for any challenges that arise. Concentrating on team success will naturally lead to positive outcomes,” Sudharsan stated.

He further mentioned that he approaches every tournament with the same level of dedication and preparation.

“I don’t differentiate between tournaments. My preparation and effort remain consistent, regardless of where I play. I feel fortunate to be able to perform here,” he remarked.

Sudharsan also pointed out the critical role of mental readiness in contemporary T20 cricket, emphasizing that mental acuity is just as vital as skill development.

In the press conference, he elaborated on his strategies for maintaining focus and clarity during matches.

“Once the pre-season and training camps conclude, it’s essential to refine your skills and have a clear mindset. Organizing your thoughts is paramount,” he explained.

He disclosed that he dedicates significant time to mental fitness, integrating practices like yoga, meditation, and visualization into his daily routine. “I invest a lot of time in these activities to ensure my mental well-being,” he added.

Currently, the Gujarat Titans find themselves at the bottom of the IPL 2026 standings, having lost both of their matches, resulting in a Net Run Rate (NRR) of -0.424. They are one of only two teams this season without any points, alongside the Chennai Super Kings, who have also faced three consecutive defeats.
