Sai Sudharsan Achieves Historic Milestones in IPL 2023
Sai Sudharsan's Record-Breaking Performance
Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], May 21: Star batter Sai Sudharsan from Gujarat Titans (GT) has made a significant mark in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
The opener has now achieved the remarkable feat of back-to-back seasons with over 600 runs, placing him among cricketing greats such as Chris Gayle, David Warner, KL Rahul, and Virat Kohli.
Additionally, Sudharsan has become only the fourth player in IPL history to score five consecutive half-centuries in a single season, joining the ranks of Virender Sehwag, Jos Buttler, and Warner.
This achievement came during the GT's match against the five-time champions, Chennai Super Kings (CSK), held in Ahmedabad on Thursday.
In this match, Sudharsan delivered an impressive performance, scoring 84 runs off 53 balls, which included seven boundaries and four sixes. His total runs for the season now stand at 638, with an outstanding average of 49.07 across 14 innings.
In the match, a century partnership between captain Shubman Gill and Sudharsan, along with a solid half-century from Jos Buttler, propelled Gujarat Titans to a total of 229/4 in their 20 overs against CSK at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
To keep their playoff aspirations alive, CSK must chase down the target of 230 runs.
