Bhuvneshwar Kumar's Impressive Bowling Strategy

Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar has expressed admiration for veteran bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar's effective technique of delivering the ball in 'straight lines with a wobbly seam.' This approach has left many top players baffled throughout the current Indian Premier League season.

At 36 years old, Bhuvneshwar, who last represented India in 2022, currently ranks second among the season's leading wicket-takers, having claimed 26 wickets as the finals against Gujarat Titans approach. The skilled bowler from Meerut has consistently challenged both emerging talents and seasoned players during Royal Challengers Bangalore's journey to the finals.

Tendulkar noted on social media platform 'X' that Bhuvneshwar has significantly improved his bowling this season. In previous years, he often relied on a pronounced outswinger followed by a strong inswinger, but this year, he has opted for a straighter delivery style.

He further explained that batters struggle to interpret Bhuvneshwar's wrist position, leading to difficulties in reacting to the ball's movement off the pitch. Tendulkar elaborated, 'Bhuvi's wobbly seam delivery creates uncertainty for batters regarding the ball's trajectory. His accuracy has been remarkable, consistently targeting the off-stump or just outside it. The straight line of his bowling combined with the wobbly seam leaves batters guessing, as they receive no clear signals from his wrist.'
