Rajasthan Royals' Remarkable Victory

Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India] - In a thrilling IPL match against Gujarat Titans, Rajasthan Royals (RR) captain Riyan Parag praised the extraordinary performance of 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who achieved a record-breaking century. Parag expressed his admiration for Suryavanshi's ability to dominate elite GT bowlers, stating that words cannot capture the significance of his achievement.

Suryavanshi has made headlines as the youngest player in T20 history to score a century and the fastest Indian to reach this milestone in the IPL.

After the match, Parag remarked, “It was phenomenal. We’ve spent two months with him and witnessed his potential, but seeing him perform like this against world-class bowlers is beyond words.”

Despite successfully chasing down a target of 210 runs in just 15.5 overs, Parag noted that the team aimed to finish the game even sooner.

When discussing the team's chances of qualifying for the playoffs, currently sitting eighth with three wins from ten matches, he mentioned, “Every day in the IPL is a learning experience. Look at how RCB made it to the playoffs last year after a rocky start. This win was crucial for us, and I’m pleased with how it turned out. We’ll assess the conditions for our next match and plan accordingly.”

In the match, GT batted first, with significant contributions from skipper Shubman Gill (84 runs off 50 balls, including five fours and four sixes) and Jos Buttler (50 not out off 26 balls, with three fours and four sixes), leading GT to a total of 209/4 in 20 overs. Maheesh Theekshana was RR's standout bowler, taking 2 wickets for 35 runs.

During the chase, Jaiswal (70 not out off 40 balls, with nine fours and two sixes) and Suryavanshi (101 runs off 38 balls, featuring seven fours and an impressive eleven sixes) formed a formidable partnership, scoring 166 runs in just 71 balls. Riyan Parag also contributed with a quick 32 runs off 15 balls, helping RR secure victory in 15.5 overs.
