Rishabh Pant's Stellar Performance Leads LSG to Victory Over SRH
Rishabh Pant Shines in LSG's Win Against SRH
Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], April 5: After securing a victory against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) captain Rishabh Pant reflected on his impressive unbeaten half-century, stating, "all that ends well is all well." He emphasized that both his teammates and the management recognize the dedication he invests in his game.
Following a disappointing run-out in the season opener, Pant displayed his form with a solid 68 not out off 50 balls while chasing 157 runs against SRH on Sunday. Although he didn't start aggressively, scoring at a run-a-ball at one point, his ability to finish strong in the final over highlighted his value in white-ball cricket.
During the post-match presentation, Pant took a moment to commend his bowlers, both pacers and spinners, for their contributions. He remarked, "You have to appreciate the bowlers, as they set the tone for the match, especially when bowling first. Shami Bhai, Avesh Khan, and Digvesh Rathi all performed exceptionally well, particularly Siddharth, who played a crucial role today."
On his batting performance, he noted, "Finishing the game is a significant plus for us. When you can conclude a match successfully, it’s a great feeling. I know I’m preparing well, and I want my bat to do the talking. My teammates and management see my hard work, which is what truly matters."
Pant also acknowledged that there is no such thing as a perfect match. He stated, "Management must be critical, but it’s equally important to appreciate what’s happening on the field. The focus should be on executing the plan rather than thinking you can do everything. Trust your preparation and approach the game confidently."
LSG chose to bowl first and quickly reduced SRH to 26/4. However, a remarkable partnership of 116 runs between Heinrich Klaasen (62 off 41 balls, including five fours and two sixes) and Nitish Kumar Reddy (56 off 33 balls, with three fours and five sixes) helped SRH reach 156/9 in their 20 overs.
Shami (2/9), Prince Yadav (2/34), and Avesh Khan (2/36) were standout bowlers, while Manimaran Siddharth (1/29) maintained an economical rate.
In their chase, LSG lost Mitch Marsh early but recovered with a 40-run partnership between Aiden Markram (45 off 27 balls, with six fours and two sixes) and Pant. Pant remained until the end, finishing the match with Mukul Choudhary (2*), sealing the win with five wickets and a ball to spare.
Harsh Dubey (2/18) was the top bowler for SRH, while Shami earned the 'Player of the Match' award for his outstanding performance during the powerplay.
