RCB's Rajat Patidar Provides Updates on Virat Kohli After Victory Over MI
RCB Triumphs Over Mumbai Indians
In a recent match held at Wankhede Stadium, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) captain Rajat Patidar shared some insights regarding star player Virat Kohli's condition following their victory against the Mumbai Indians (MI). Patidar reassured fans that the 37-year-old is doing well.
After a setback against the Rajasthan Royals (RR), RCB bounced back with an 18-run victory over their rivals, MI. The team posted an impressive total of 240/4, thanks to remarkable half-centuries from Phil Salt, Virat Kohli, and Rajat Patidar. MI managed to score 222/5, falling short despite Sherfane Rutherford's explosive 71* off just 31 balls, which included nine sixes and a four. Notably, Kohli was absent from the field, seen wearing a jacket while resting.
In the post-match discussion, Patidar addressed rumors regarding Kohli's potential injury, stating, "I do not know yet, but I think he is okay right now."
Reflecting on the win, Patidar emphasized the clarity provided to players in the batting order and praised the vibrant atmosphere at the iconic Wankhede Stadium. He remarked, "Playing here in Mumbai, especially at this ground, with the fans in a packed stadium is a unique experience. It brings clarity to every individual, and the way Virat Bhai and Salt initiated the innings kept us in control. My contributions alongside Tim (David) were part of a collective team effort."
When asked about his preference between spin and pace bowling, Patidar expressed, "People often say I favor spin, but I actually enjoy facing pace. This pitch is excellent for fast bowlers, and I thrive against them."
This season, Patidar has faced 59 balls of spin, scoring 129 runs at a strike rate of 218.94, with nine fours and 11 sixes, while being dismissed twice. Against pace, he has accumulated 66 runs off 32 balls, with a strike rate of 206.25, including two fours and seven sixes, with one dismissal.
Currently, Patidar shares the title of joint-highest six-hitter with Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, both having hit 18 sixes this season. He is also the second-highest run-scorer, amassing 195 runs in four innings at an average of 65.00 and a strike rate of 214.28, including two fifties.
