Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], September 28: The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), the reigning champions, have decided to keep 13 players while parting ways with four as they gear up for the 2027 Women's Premier League (WPL) season.
Following a triumphant 2026 season, where they secured the WPL title by defeating Delhi Capitals by six wickets in the final held at Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara on February 5, RCB is looking to build on their success.
With the majority of their championship-winning team intact, RCB aims to enhance their roster further as they approach the new season.
In the final match, RCB achieved a remarkable feat by successfully chasing down a daunting target of 204 runs, marking the highest successful run chase in WPL final history.
Smriti Mandhana was instrumental in this victory, scoring an impressive 87 runs off just 41 balls, while Georgia Voll contributed significantly with a brisk 79, leading RCB to a memorable six-wicket win.
