Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], April 12: Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) showcased an impressive batting display, scoring 240 runs for the loss of four wickets against Mumbai Indians (MI) at Wankhede Stadium on Sunday. Key contributions came from Phil Salt, captain Rajat Patidar, Virat Kohli, and a late surge from Tim David.


The innings was highlighted by a remarkable 120-run partnership between Salt, who scored 78 off 36 balls with six fours and six sixes, and Kohli. Additionally, a 65-run collaboration between Kohli (50 off 38 balls, including five fours and a six) and Patidar (53 off just 20 balls, featuring four boundaries and five sixes) further propelled RCB's total. David added a quickfire 34 not out from 16 balls, hitting two fours and three sixes.


After MI opted to bowl first, Salt and Kohli began aggressively, with Kohli hitting Trent Boult for a six and Salt following up with a four in the opening over. RCB continued to pile on the runs against Boult and Jasprit Bumrah, with Salt launching three sixes and a four off Mitchell Santner in the fifth over, amassing 22 runs and bringing RCB to 50 runs in just 4.2 overs.
