RCB Advances to IPL Final with a Stunning Victory
Dharamsala (Himachal Pradesh) [India], May 26: A remarkable display of bowling from the pace attack, combined with an explosive innings from captain Rajat Patidar, propelled the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) to a commanding 92-run victory over the Gujarat Titans (GT) in the IPL Qualifier 1, securing their place in the finals for the second consecutive year.
This triumph sets RCB on the path to potentially clinch their second IPL title. Meanwhile, GT will have another opportunity to reach the finals as they prepare to face the winner of the eliminator match between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Gujarat Titans (GT) on Friday.
RCB posted an impressive total of 254 runs for 5 wickets, thanks to stellar performances from Rajat Patidar (93 not out off 33 balls, featuring five fours and nine sixes), Virat Kohli (43 off 25 balls, with five fours and a six), and Krunal Pandya (43 off 28 balls, including five fours and two sixes). However, Bhuvneshwar Kumar eventually dismissed Tewatia for 68 runs, with a catch from Patidar, as GT crumbled to 156 for 9 in 18.1 overs.
Duffy's impressive bowling performance (3/39) made him the standout bowler, while Bhuvneshwar, Rasikh, and Krunal each took two wickets, with Hazlewood also claiming one.
