Lucknow Super Giants Struggle Against RCB

Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], April 15: In a recent IPL 2026 match, the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) faced a tough challenge against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), being bowled out for a mere 146 runs. Rasikh Salam Dar was the standout performer with the ball, leading a disciplined bowling attack that dismantled LSG's batting lineup.

Dar's exceptional bowling was complemented by Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood, who played pivotal roles in restricting LSG's scoring opportunities, resulting in a series of wickets that hampered their innings.

After being invited to bat first, LSG started steadily, reaching 22 runs without loss in the initial three overs. However, their momentum was halted when Rasikh struck in the fourth over, dismissing Aiden Markram for 12 runs, which included a six.

The situation worsened for LSG when captain Rishabh Pant had to leave the field after being hit on the elbow by a delivery from Hazlewood during the fifth over.

RCB maintained a tight grip on the game, limiting LSG to just 35 runs at the end of the powerplay, marking their lowest score in this phase for the season. The Super Giants struggled to find their rhythm, accumulating 15 dot balls in the first six overs.

Hazlewood continued to apply pressure, taking the wicket of Nicholas Pooran for just one run, leaving LSG at 63/2 after nine overs.

As LSG attempted to build a partnership, Krunal Pandya intervened by dismissing Mitchell Marsh, who scored a solid 40 runs off 32 balls, including three fours and two sixes, leaving the team at 71/3.

Krunal then claimed his second wicket by removing Abdul Samad for a duck, marking a significant milestone as he reached 100 wickets in his IPL career. He became the sixth finger spinner in IPL history to achieve this feat, joining the ranks of notable players like Sunil Narine and Ravichandran Ashwin.

By the end of the 15th over, LSG had managed to score 112 runs for the loss of four wickets, still searching for a breakthrough in their innings.

In the 16th over, Rasikh Salam Dar took his second wicket by dismissing Ayush Badoni, who contributed 38 runs off 24 balls with four boundaries and a six.

Despite his injury, Rishabh Pant returned to bat, heavily strapped on his left elbow, as LSG aimed to stabilize their innings.

However, Pant's struggles continued as he was dismissed for just one run, caught sharply by Phil Salt, further complicating LSG's situation as they fell to 124/6 by the end of the 17th over.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar then took two quick wickets in the 19th over, leaving LSG at 137/8.

In the final over, Rasikh secured two more wickets, wrapping up LSG's innings at 146 runs. He finished with impressive figures of 4 wickets for 24 runs, while Bhuvneshwar also shone with three wickets for 27 runs. Hazlewood and Krunal contributed with one and two wickets, respectively.
