Rajasthan Royals Secure Victory in IPL Eliminator

Mullanpur (Punjab) [India] - In a thrilling IPL Eliminator match on Wednesday, Rajasthan Royals (RR) triumphed over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 47 runs, thanks to an explosive 97 runs off just 29 balls from Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and stellar bowling from Jofra Archer and Nandre Burger.


This defeat means SRH has been knocked out of the tournament, while RR advances to face Gujarat Titans in Qualifier Two on Friday, aiming for a chance to compete against the defending champions, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). After SRH opted to bowl first, Sooryavanshi's remarkable innings, which included five fours and 12 sixes, alongside Dhruv Jurel's 50 off 21 balls, propelled RR to a formidable total of 243/8 in their 20 overs.


In response, SRH struggled early, collapsing to 57/4 during the powerplay, despite a brief resurgence from Ishan Kishan, who scored 33 runs off 11 balls. Archer's impressive figures of 3/58 and Burger's 2/26 helped RR restrict SRH to just 196 runs in 19.2 overs.


Archer made an immediate impact, dismissing Abhishek Sharma for a golden duck on the second ball of the innings. Kishan attempted to counterattack, hitting Archer for two fours and a six, but Archer struck again, removing Kishan and leaving SRH at 51/2.


The RR bowling duo continued to dominate, with Archer and Burger taking crucial wickets, including that of Head and Ravichandran, leaving SRH in dire straits at 57/4. By the end of the powerplay, SRH was at 71/4, with Klaasen and Reddy at the crease.
