Rajasthan Royals to Host 'Pink Promise Match' for Social Impact in IPL 2026
Rajasthan Royals Announce Pink Promise Match
Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], May 6: The Rajasthan Royals (RR) have revealed that their upcoming home game against the Gujarat Titans (GT) on May 9 at Sawai Mansingh Stadium will be designated as the 'Pink Promise Match' for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. This special event aims to promote long-term social change through the influence of cricket.
Entering its third year, the 'Pink Promise Match' is spearheaded by the Royal Rajasthan Foundation (RRF) and reinforces the Royals' dedication to fostering significant social impact.
This initiative is a key part of the Royals' community outreach, where the team will don their iconic all-pink jerseys, symbolizing their ongoing commitment to empowering women. Over the years, this initiative has transformed into a robust platform that utilizes cricket's popularity to effect meaningful change beyond the field.
The 'Pink Promise' initiative is centered around the theme of women-led transformation, encapsulated in the phrase, 'Aurat Hai Toh Bharat Hai.'
This season's Pink Promise jersey carries a profound narrative. It was designed through the Royals HunaRR Manch – Season 2: Rajasthan Royals Pink Promise Jersey Design competition, which attracted over 8,500 submissions from more than 700 designers across India. The jersey embodies the essence of grassroots impact.
Focusing on women-led transformation, the design features a subtle ripple pattern, symbolizing how change starts with one person and spreads throughout families and communities. The winning design was crafted by 19-year-old Samiksha Rameshwar Mundada from Nashik, who was selected by the jury.
The jersey also includes solar-inspired motifs, representing access to clean and sustainable energy, along with the names of women supported by the Royal Rajasthan Foundation. These elements bring to life the philosophy of 'Aurat Hai Toh Bharat Hai,' making the jersey a narrative of impact rather than just a uniform.
Alok Chitre, Chief Operating Officer of Rajasthan Royals, commented on the initiative: 'The Pink Promise has evolved into a significant movement over the years, where cricket contributes positively beyond the sport. We have witnessed this initiative create real, measurable impact. In 2024, it helped power 260 homes, followed by over 520 homes in 2025. As we enter another season, we are committed to further scaling this impact and continuing to promote women-led transformation.'
This year, the Royals will persist with their solar electrification initiatives in the area. For every six runs scored during the match, six homes will receive solar power, reinforcing the connection between on-field achievements and off-field benefits.
The initiative builds on the strong progress made in previous seasons. Over the last two years, it has contributed to powering 780 homes, enhancing access to clean energy in underserved communities. Central to this effort are women from the Sambhar region, who have been trained through RRF programs and play a crucial role in the installation, upkeep, and sustainability of the solar systems.
The Pink Promise Match exemplifies the Rajasthan Royals' commitment to creating a lasting impact, using cricket not merely as a sport but as a means to empower communities and drive essential change.
