Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India] - The Rajasthan Royals (RR) are feeling the heat once more in the ongoing IPL 2026 season, having set an unwanted record by allowing yet another team to score over 200 runs. This time, it was the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) who achieved a formidable total of 220/5 during their match on Tuesday night at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium.


This latest performance marks the eighth instance this season where RR has conceded a total exceeding 200 runs, a trend that has significantly impacted their campaign. The LSG innings was bolstered by impressive contributions from Mitchell Marsh and Josh Inglis.


According to data from CricViz, RR's record of conceding eight 200-plus totals is the second-highest for any team in a single IPL season, trailing only the Punjab Kings (PBKS), who have allowed nine such totals in the current edition.


The list of teams with the most 200-plus totals conceded in a single IPL season now includes: PBKS (9 in 2026), RR (8 in 2026), Sunrisers Hyderabad (7 in 2024), RR (7 in 2025), Lucknow Super Giants (7 in 2025), and PBKS (7 in 2025).


In the match against LSG, the Royals opted to bowl first, and LSG capitalized on this decision, racing to a total of 220/5. The explosive opening partnership between Inglis and Marsh was pivotal, with LSG reaching 83 runs without losing a wicket during the powerplay, marking their fourth-highest score in this phase this season.


Inglis showcased his batting prowess with a quick-fire fifty off just 30 balls, forming a 109-run opening stand with Marsh. Although Inglis was dismissed for 60, Marsh continued to dominate, scoring a rapid half-century in 25 balls and finishing with an impressive 96 runs off 57 balls.
