In Jaipur, Rajasthan, on May 1, Rajasthan Royals (RR) captain Riyan Parag has won the toss and chosen to bat first in their Indian Premier League (IPL) match against Delhi Capitals (DC) on Friday.

The Royals recently showcased an impressive performance, handing the Punjab Kings their first defeat of the season in New Chandigarh on Tuesday. In contrast, the Delhi Capitals faced a disappointing loss to Royal Challengers Bengaluru at home just a day prior.

“We’re opting to bat first,” Parag stated. “The pitch here isn’t the typical Jaipur surface; it appears a bit dry and uneven. We hope it slows down in the second innings. A collective team effort is crucial, especially when chasing down 228 runs. Everyone is contributing, but we aim to play a complete 40-over match today. Bishnoi is in, and Shubham is also playing,” he added during the toss.

DC captain Axar Patel commented, “Starc is in the lineup, while Chameera is out. Pathum is playing, which means David Miller will not be part of today’s match. Ashok Sharma is included, leading to three changes in our squad. The pitch looks promising, and we’re prepared to chase if needed. It’s vital to return to our fundamentals, stay focused on the present, and maintain a positive attitude and body language.”
