Rahul Dravid Launches Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 2026 in Bengaluru
Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 2026 Unveiled
On June 11, in Bengaluru, former Indian cricket captain Rahul Dravid, alongside Venkatesh Prasad from the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA), introduced the Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 2026.
This exciting tournament is scheduled to take place from June 20 to July 12, 2026, across various locations including Mysuru, Hubballi, and Bengaluru, featuring six franchises competing in a total of 34 matches.
During the unveiling event, Dravid emphasized the significance of the Maharaja Trophy as a vital platform for emerging cricketers to display their skills.
He pointed out that scouts from the Indian Premier League (IPL) closely monitor this tournament, presenting a crucial chance for players to make their mark.
Dravid highlighted that impressive performances could lead to opportunities at higher levels, referencing Yash Raj Punja's selection for the IPL despite not having played for Karnataka, and expressed optimism for more success stories to follow.
"It is wonderful to be part of the Maharaja Trophy unveiling. This tournament offers a fantastic chance for young talents to shine. IPL scouts are always watching, and if players excel, they might get picked, just like Yash Raj Punja did last year, even without prior Karnataka experience. I hope to see more players like him succeed," Dravid stated.
Yash Raj Punja was acquired by Rajasthan Royals for Rs 30 Lakh during the IPL 2026 Auction. The 19-year-old leg-spinner could make history this season by becoming the first player from the UAE to be included in an IPL playing XI.
