Punjab Kings Prepare for IPL 2025

Mohali (Punjab) - As the Indian Premier League (IPL) season 19 approaches, set to kick off on March 28, players from Punjab Kings (PBKS), including Yuzvendra Chahal and Shashank Singh, are optimistic about their prospects for the upcoming season.

During a recent event in Mohali, the players shared insights into the team's preparation, mindset, and overall dynamics.

Shashank Singh praised the franchise's commitment to regular training camps, stating, "This is technically our fifth or sixth camp. The franchise ensures we have consistent training sessions. The one held in Abu Dhabi was the best. Our preparation is top-notch, and we are excited to entertain our fans."

Veteran spinner Yuzvendra Chahal emphasized the importance of these camps in fostering a winning atmosphere. He remarked, "This tournament spans two months, not just one week. By organizing three to four camps, we create strong bonds. We share meals and experiences, and over those two months, we become like family. Our motivation is to support each other, which enhances our performance both on and off the field."

The franchise's decision to retain most of its squad from the previous IPL season has further strengthened this camaraderie, instilling a sense of security within the team.

Shashank added, "The trust shown to players last year was crucial. This year, 23 players remain from last season. While every team's skill level is similar in the IPL, what sets us apart is the trust and belief that continues to grow here."

When discussing how to handle challenging moments during matches, both players exhibited a fearless mindset. Chahal stated, "I thrive under pressure. Everyone can perform in easy situations, but succeeding under pressure builds confidence. My role is to take wickets during crucial overs, and I'm ready for that challenge."

Shashank echoed this sentiment, clearly outlining his goal for the season: "The next two months are vital for us, and our focus is solely on winning the trophy. I aim to enjoy the significant moments rather than viewing them as pressure. I've already told everyone that this year, we will lift the trophy for sure."

Additionally, the Punjab Kings event introduced a new mascot named 'Blobber Sher', representing the team's strength, energy, and fearless spirit. This mascot, created in collaboration with Nippon Paint, will play a central role in fan engagement and digital campaigns throughout the IPL season.

With dedicated training camps, a cohesive team, and strong partnerships, the Punjab Kings are poised for an exhilarating cricket season ahead.
