Punjab FC Aims for Victory Against Inter Kashi in Upcoming ISL Clash
Punjab FC Seeks Redemption in ISL Match
New Delhi [India] - On April 20, 2026, Punjab FC will look to bounce back as they take on Inter Kashi in the Indian Super League 2025-26 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, with kickoff set for 19:30 IST.
In their last match, Punjab FC faced a tough 2-3 loss to Mohun Bagan Super Giant. Currently, they are positioned seventh in the league standings with 11 points from seven matches played.
A win would certainly boost their points, but their ranking may not change immediately since they have played two matches less than Jamshedpur FC, who are in sixth place with 15 points.
Head coach Panagiotis Dilmperis expressed confidence in his team's resilience despite the challenges faced early in the season.
“We’ve been under pressure since the beginning due to a postponed match. We keep a close eye on the standings. Our performances against top teams showcase our potential, even if the results haven’t always been favorable. We remain motivated and use our setbacks to fuel our improvement,” he stated.
Punjab's offense will be tested against an Inter Kashi defense that has only allowed eight goals this season, ranking third in the league, trailing only Mohun Bagan Super Giant and Mumbai City FC.
Inter Kashi enters this match with positive momentum after a victory over Mohammedan Sporting Club. They are currently tied on points with Punjab FC but are behind on goal difference, having played one more match.
Head coach Antonio Lopez Habas emphasized the need for tactical consistency while being adaptable to the dynamics of each match.
“It’s essential to stay true to the team’s tactical philosophy. Adjustments are normal in every match based on the opponent,” he remarked.
Regarding the upcoming challenge, Habas noted, “They are a well-organized team with a clear identity and key players. This match will be tough for us, and I expect it to be equally challenging for them.”
A win for Inter Kashi could see them surpass Punjab FC in the standings, adding extra intensity to what is anticipated to be a fiercely contested match.
