Prasidh Krishna's Stellar Performance Leads Gujarat Titans to Victory Over Lucknow Super Giants
Gujarat Titans Secure Win with Prasidh Krishna's Four-Wicket Haul
Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India] - On April 12, Gujarat Titans' fast bowler Prasidh Krishna highlighted the significance of the team's victory, even after being named Player of the Match for his impressive four-wicket performance against Lucknow Super Giants during their IPL 2026 encounter on Sunday.
Krishna delivered an outstanding bowling display, achieving figures of 4/28 in just four overs. He dismissed LSG's opener Aiden Markram, along with Ayush Badoni, Nicholas Pooran, and Mukul Choudhary, effectively stifling the home team's scoring opportunities. As a result, GT managed to limit LSG to 164 runs for 8 wickets in their allotted 20 overs and successfully chased down the target in 18.4 overs, winning by seven wickets.
In the post-match interview, Krishna emphasized that the team's success was paramount, crediting their collective effort and dedication. He noted that his individual achievements stemmed from the pressure exerted by the entire bowling lineup.
“The most crucial aspect was our team's victory. We have been putting in a lot of effort and executing our plans effectively. I believe I am merely reaping the rewards of the pressure created by my fellow bowlers,” Krishna remarked.
During his bowling spell, Krishna utilized several slower deliveries, attributing their effectiveness to rigorous practice sessions. He acknowledged that while playing in the afternoon can be physically demanding, the joy of winning makes it all worthwhile.
“It requires a lot of practice to master those slower balls. You need to bowl them frequently in the nets to gain confidence before using them in matches. Although the afternoon game was exhausting, the victory compensates for everything,” he stated.
Following this win, Gujarat Titans are positioned fifth in the IPL 2026 standings, with two victories and two defeats. Lucknow Super Giants sit in sixth place, sharing the same win-loss record. LSG, batting first, managed to score 164 runs, with Aiden Markram being the only player to surpass 20 runs, scoring 30 off 21 balls.
In response, fifties from Shubman Gill (56 runs off 40 balls) and Jos Buttler (60 runs off 37 balls) guided GT to a comfortable victory, finishing the match with seven wickets in hand and eight balls remaining.
