Praful Hinge Makes IPL History with Stunning Debut Performance
Praful Hinge's Remarkable IPL Debut
New Delhi [India] - On April 24, Sunrisers Hyderabad's (SRH) emerging fast bowler Praful Hinge made headlines during his Indian Premier League (IPL) debut by achieving a remarkable feat, taking three wickets in his very first over against the Rajasthan Royals (RR).
Reflecting on his debut match, Hinge shared insights about his strategy against RR's batting star Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. He recalled a previous encounter in an Under-23 match where he successfully dismissed Sooryavanshi with a bouncer, prompting him to employ the same tactic again.
Anticipating an aggressive approach from Sooryavanshi, Hinge decided to challenge him with a bouncer, which resulted in a mistimed shot leading to his wicket. Hinge stated, “I had previously dismissed him with a bouncer in an Under-23 game, so I thought if I bowled another one, he would try to attack me, as he does with every bowler. I wanted to test him again, and he attempted to hit it but mis-timed it. During our team meeting, I shared my thoughts, and the bowling coach contributed his insights. I initially wanted to bowl from round the wicket, but he suggested I go over the wicket for one delivery, and that’s when I got him out. We were both thrilled with the outcome,” Hinge explained on JioStar.
Hinge also emphasized the importance of practicing against aggressive players like Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan, and Heinrich Klaasen, as it prepares bowlers for high-pressure situations in matches.
He mentioned that he mentally visualizes match scenarios, striving to deliver his best performances while batters aim to hit boundaries, fostering a competitive training atmosphere. “They attempt to hit every ball, which is their style, and our team is designed to score heavily in every game. Even during practice, they put pressure on every bowler, and we bowlers treat it like a real match. We simulate situations where I think, ‘I’m bowling to Ishan Kishan, Abhishek, or Klaasen.’ I aim to perform at my best, and they give their all too, trying to hit me for sixes while I focus on executing my best deliveries,” he added.
