Prabhsimran Singh Sets the Record Straight
On Wednesday, Prabhsimran Singh, a key batter for Punjab Kings (PBKS), dismissed rumors regarding significant weight gain during the current Indian Premier League (IPL) season.
The 25-year-old player shared a story on Instagram showcasing his physique, countering claims that he had added 10 kg during the tournament.
As of now, Prabhsimran stands as PBKS's second-highest run-scorer, amassing 382 runs over 10 innings with an impressive average of 42.44 and a strike rate of 169.02, which includes four half-centuries.
Leading the charts is Australian talent Cooper Connolly, who has scored 415 runs in the same number of innings, averaging 51.87 with a strike rate of 168.01, featuring a century and two fifties.
However, Prabhsimran's recent performances have been underwhelming, with scores of 18 against Delhi Capitals (DC), 3 against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), and 15 against Gujarat Titans (GT).

In response to the situation, franchise co-owner Preity Zinta urged media professionals to act responsibly and avoid spreading misinformation.
Zinta's comments followed PBKS's recent defeat to Delhi Capitals, marking their fourth consecutive loss after a strong unbeaten streak of seven matches, which included six victories and one no result. This downturn has led to media speculation regarding player discipline both on and off the field.
The upcoming match against Mumbai Indians (MI) in Dharamsala is critical for PBKS as they aim to secure a spot in the top four. With the five-time champions now out of contention, the 2025 runners-up hope to avoid further setbacks.
