Noor Ahmed Shines as CSK Secures Victory Against KKR in IPL Clash
CSK Triumphs Over KKR with Noor Ahmed's Stellar Bowling Performance
Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India] - Following the Chennai Super Kings' (CSK) victory against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), spinner Noor Ahmed, who delivered an impressive bowling performance with figures of 3/21, credited the challenging pitch conditions for his success, stating that it boosted his confidence.
During KKR's chase of 193 runs, they found themselves at 79/2, bolstered by a solid 50-run partnership between captain Ajinkya Rahane and Angkrish Raghuvanshi. However, Noor's exceptional bowling quickly turned the tide, as he dismissed Rahane, Cameron Green, and Rinku Singh in rapid succession, ultimately restricting KKR to 160/7. This victory marked CSK's second consecutive win after a rough start to the season with three losses.
In the post-match interview, Noor expressed his satisfaction with his contribution to the team's success and discussed the impact of dew on his bowling. He remarked, “I’m really pleased to help my team. The dew made it humid, so I focused on keeping my fingers dry, which allowed me to hit my spots effectively. The pitch conditions were favorable as the ball wasn't coming onto the bat well, and I capitalized on that. This performance definitely boosts my confidence, and I plan to keep working hard to support my team in future matches. Adjusting my pace is crucial on any wicket,” he added.
After being asked to bat first, CSK posted a total of 192/5 in their 20 overs, with notable contributions from Sanju Samson, who scored 48 runs off 32 balls, and Dewald Brevis, who added 41 runs from 29 balls. Kartik Tyagi stood out with the ball for KKR, taking 2 wickets for 35 runs.
In their innings, KKR struggled early, falling to 29/2, but a brief partnership between Rahane (28 runs off 22 balls) and Raghuvanshi (27 runs off 19 balls) gave them hope. However, Noor Ahmed's game-changing spell left KKR reeling at 90/6, and they ultimately finished their innings at 160/7.
KKR remains winless this season, having lost four matches and one resulting in no result, placing them at the bottom of the points table. Meanwhile, CSK has moved up to the eighth position with four points.
