Nitish Rana Visits Mahakaleshwar Temple Amid IPL Struggles
Nitish Rana's Temple Visit
Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh) [India] - On Tuesday, Delhi Capitals (DC) player Nitish Rana took time to offer his prayers at the Bhasma Aarti held at the Shree Mahakaleshwar Temple.
Rana's Performance in IPL 2026
This visit comes during a challenging phase for Rana, who has struggled with his form in the ongoing IPL 2026 season. In the three matches played so far, he has accumulated only 20 runs, including a duck.
In the opening match against Lucknow Super Giants, Rana scored 15 runs off 17 balls. His performance took a downturn in the next game against Mumbai Indians, where he was run out after facing just three balls. Despite his batting woes, DC managed to secure victories in both of those matches.
In his third outing, Rana managed to score just five runs off six balls, contributing to a narrow one-run defeat for his team. He was absent from the lineup in the match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK), with Ashutosh Sharma stepping in for him. This match marked DC's second loss of the season against CSK.
Delhi Capitals' Season Overview
So far in the tournament, DC has played four matches, achieving two wins and two losses. They currently sit in fifth place on the IPL 2026 points table, holding four points and a Net Run Rate (NRR) of +0.322.
CSK's Recent Victory
In their latest match against CSK, a remarkable century from Sanju Samson and a four-wicket haul by Jamie Overton led CSK to their first win of IPL 2026, defeating DC by 23 runs at Chepauk Stadium.
This victory ended CSK's six-match losing streak at home. Batting first, CSK posted a total of 212/2 in 20 overs, thanks to Samson's explosive 115* off 56 balls, which included 15 fours and four sixes, along with Ayush Mhatre's 59 off 36 balls.
In response, DC's Pathum Nissanka scored 41 runs off 24 balls, forming a 62-run partnership with KL Rahul, while Tristan Stubbs contributed a quick 60 off 30 balls. However, consistent wickets from Overton (4/18) and Kamboj (3/35) stifled DC's chase.
