New Delhi, Jun 7: Nepal is committed to resolving its border dispute with India through diplomatic channels, emphasizing that no issue is insurmountable when both parties engage with sincerity, stated Nepalese Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal on Sunday.

Khanal expressed that the newly formed government in Kathmandu aims to view India without the biases of modern geopolitical tensions, focusing instead on fostering a mutually beneficial partnership that promotes prosperity for both nations.

His comments followed extensive discussions with India's External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar.

"We approach India with sincerity and clarity, driven by a transparent goal: the economic advancement of Nepal," Khanal remarked.

He asserted that no challenge is too great and no boundary too intricate when approached with an open heart.

"Instead of indulging in exaggerated nationalism, we are adopting a calm, evidence-based strategy to tackle our issues," he noted.

Khanal's three-day visit to New Delhi, which began on Friday, aims to enhance bilateral relations, although it has been marred by controversy following remarks from Nepalese Prime Minister Balendra Shah regarding the border dispute.

"When we gaze across the border, we see a Rising India—an India that has redefined its position on the global stage as a vibrant, rapidly growing technological and economic force," he stated.

"We aspire to collaborate with this ambitious India, while we bring the enthusiasm of an Aspiring Nepal," he added.

On June 2, India firmly dismissed any notion of third-party involvement in the India-Nepal border discussions, reaffirming that all unresolved issues are being handled through established bilateral frameworks.

This statement followed Prime Minister Shah's comments during his first parliamentary session, where he acknowledged that Nepal might have inadvertently encroached on Indian territory in certain regions while addressing the border matter.

This sparked a political debate in Nepal, leading the Foreign Ministry to clarify the situation.
