Pandya found success as the captain of GT, leading them to a title victory in their inaugural season. However, in IPL 2023, GT fell short in the final against CSK. Unfortunately, Pandya's tenure at MI did not mirror his previous success, as the five-time champions struggled and finished last in the league with only four wins. In IPL 2025, MI showed improvement by qualifying for the playoffs and defeating Gujarat Titans in the eliminator, but they were ultimately eliminated by Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the second qualifier.
