“We are opting to bowl first. Our goal is clear: we need to win both matches and stay focused. In the first half of the tournament, we had chances that could have changed our standings. Reading the wicket is challenging, so we must play well for the entire 40 overs. We are sticking with the same lineup,” Rahane stated during the toss.

MI's Perspective

MI's captain, Hardik Pandya, also indicated a preference to bowl first, noting that the pitch appeared to have been covered, which could affect play. He highlighted the importance of finishing the season strongly.

“We would have chosen to bowl first as well. The track looks like it has been under covers, and we want to see how it performs. Playing for pride is crucial; every match is an opportunity to win and showcase our best cricket.
