Kartik Tyagi Reflects on Valuable Lessons from KKR Mentor

Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], April 8: Ahead of the upcoming match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) fast bowler Kartik Tyagi discussed his experiences with mentor Dwayne Bravo and the franchise's owner, Shah Rukh Khan.

Tyagi expressed admiration for Bravo's extensive knowledge, emphasizing that a crucial lesson learned is recognizing the right skills to deploy during high-pressure situations. He noted that having experienced players around significantly aids in making vital decisions on the field.

“Dwayne Bravo has immense experience in T20 cricket, and everyone is aware of his capabilities. The challenge lies in knowing which skill to utilize and when. Under pressure, especially after a long break, it can be tough to maintain clarity. That’s where having someone with such experience is invaluable; they help us decide what to do and when to execute our plans,” he stated during a pre-match press conference.

Additionally, Tyagi shared his encounter with Shah Rukh Khan, who inspired the team to aim for excellence. “Meeting Shah Rukh Khan was motivating. He encouraged us to always strive for the best, which truly inspired the squad,” Tyagi remarked.

Despite a challenging start to the IPL 2026 season, with KKR still seeking their first win after three matches, Tyagi conveyed the team's determination. Currently, they sit eighth in the points table, having earned one point from a rain-abandoned match against Punjab Kings.

“Our focus is solely on winning this match; we are eager for it. It has been on our minds for several days. We are continuously strategizing for the win, and we hope the outcome will be favorable,” Tyagi concluded.
