Opting to bat first, MI started cautiously, managing just 10 runs without loss in the initial two overs. However, the third over turned disastrous for them as KKR's all-rounder Cameron Green struck twice swiftly, dismissing Ryan Rickelton for 6 runs on the third ball and then sending Naman Dhir back for a duck on the final delivery of the over.

The pressure mounted further in the next over when Saurabh Dubey removed Rohit Sharma for 15 runs, leaving MI in a precarious position at 24 for 3 after four overs.

Dubey continued his impressive performance by taking out Suryakumar Yadav for 15 runs in the sixth over, with MI concluding the powerplay at a challenging 46 for 4.

After the eighth over, MI batters Tilak Varma and Hardik Pandya managed to lift the score to 57 for 4, but rain interrupted the match, causing a brief delay.

Upon resuming, both players approached their innings with caution, bringing MI to 64 for 4 at the halfway mark as they attempted to recover from their early losses.

Kartik Tyagi made his mark in the 14th over, dismissing Tilak Varma for 20 runs, which pushed Mumbai down to 88 for 5, as they struggled to gain any momentum.

The batting woes continued for MI as captain Hardik Pandya fell for 26 runs, bowled by veteran spinner Sunil Narine on the second ball of the 16th over, further intensifying the pressure on the batting side.

In a chaotic moment during the 17th over, Will Jacks was run out for 14 runs due to a mix-up with Corbin Bosch. By the end of the 18th over, MI found themselves in a dire situation at 115 for 7, with wickets continuing to fall.

In the closing stages, Corbin Bosch played a crucial innings, remaining unbeaten with 32 runs off 18 balls, helping MI reach a total of 147 for 8 in their allotted 20 overs.

For KKR, Saurabh Dubey recorded impressive figures of 2 for 34, Cameron Green took 2 for 23, Kartik Tyagi finished with 2 for 37, and Sunil Narine contributed with 1 for 13, showcasing a well-rounded bowling effort to keep MI in check.
