Rahul's innings, which came off just 67 deliveries, marked the highest individual score by an Indian in IPL history, surpassing Abhishek Sharma's previous record of 141 set last year against PBKS.
He became only the third player to score over 150 runs in IPL, joining the ranks of Chris Gayle and Brendon McCullum, who previously achieved this milestone.

Expressing his satisfaction, KL Rahul stated, "I felt very pleased after the first 20 overs. This is something I have been diligently working on for a long time. Last year, I spent considerable time with Abhishek Nayar discussing ways to improve my game, particularly in white-ball formats. My focus was on excelling in the IPL and adapting to the evolving demands of T20 cricket."
He elaborated on his approach, saying, "I had to reassess how T20 cricket has evolved and what is expected today. Observing the T20 World Cup and the aggressive style of younger players inspired me to embrace a more attacking mindset from the outset."
Rahul acknowledged that the dynamics of T20 cricket have shifted, emphasizing the importance of scoring quickly during the powerplay to apply pressure on bowlers.

In the match, after DC chose to bat first, a spectacular partnership of 220 runs between KL Rahul and Nitish Rana (who scored 91 off 44 balls) propelled DC to a total of 264/2.
During the chase, PBKS maintained their momentum with explosive performances from Priyansh Arya (43 off 17 balls) and Prabhsimran Singh (76 off 26 balls), who collectively scored 116 runs in the powerplay. Shreyas Iyer also contributed significantly with an unbeaten 71 off 36 balls, leading the team to victory in just 18.5 overs.
This victory keeps PBKS unbeaten in the tournament, with six wins and one no-result, totaling 13 points, while DC sits in sixth place with three wins and four losses, accumulating six points.
