Kishan expressed that he believes his best performances as a batter are still ahead of him.
Despite Cummins' return to the IPL, Kishan maintained his impressive form, scoring a remarkable 74 runs off just 31 balls, featuring 11 boundaries and three sixes. He played a crucial role in leading the team's chase of 229 runs.
In the post-match interview, Kishan reflected on his captaincy during the initial phase of the season, stating, "Leading the team for seven matches was enjoyable, and having Pat back adds significant bowling strength. I was excited about his return because he is an exceptional captain. My focus was primarily on my batting and wicket-keeping rather than leadership duties."

Kishan emphasized the importance of playing fearlessly, stating that one must continue to take risks without fearing failure. He recounted an incident where a bouncer from Jofra Archer hit his helmet and went for six, noting that the ball bounced higher than anticipated. "I’m pleased to have scored six runs from that. Sometimes, fortune favors the brave. You just need to keep your eyes on the ball and keep going. It was a valuable learning experience for me," he remarked.
Regarding the run-chase, he mentioned that the team remained composed, highlighting the significance of a strong power play. "With Head and Abhishek opening, they made things easier for the rest of us, even if they only batted for a few overs. I communicated well with Abhishek, who was aware of the game situation and run rate. Our partnership in the middle was crucial for the team's success," he added.

Ishan Kishan currently ranks as the second-highest run-scorer in T20s this year, amassing 844 runs in 21 innings with an average of 40.19 and a strike rate of 203.86, including one century and seven fifties. He also played a pivotal role in India's T20 World Cup victory, scoring 317 runs in nine innings at an average of 35.22 and a strike rate of 193.22, featuring three fifties and a top score of 77.
