IPL 2026 Schedule Update: Key Matches Shifted to New Venues
IPL 2026 Schedule Changes Announced
Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], April 13: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has made significant adjustments to the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 schedule. Notably, the match on April 26 between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will now take place in Chennai instead of Ahmedabad. Additionally, the return match on May 21 will be hosted at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium.
This change is primarily due to the municipal corporation elections occurring in Ahmedabad and various regions of Gujarat on April 26, 2026.
An official statement from the IPL confirmed, “The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announces a revision in the schedule of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026.”
The afternoon match between Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings, which was initially set for Ahmedabad, will now be played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, commencing at 03:30 PM IST.
Furthermore, the reverse fixture between CSK and GT, originally planned for May 21, will now occur at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, starting at 07:30 PM IST.
As it stands, GT is currently positioned fifth in the points table, having secured two victories and two defeats, totaling four points. They recently triumphed over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in their last match. Meanwhile, CSK ended their three-match losing streak with a 23-run victory against Delhi Capitals (DC) at their home ground, Chepauk Stadium.
