IPL 2026 Auction Details
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 auction is scheduled to occur in Abu Dhabi on December 16. A finalized list of 350 players has been prepared for the auction, which includes 240 Indian cricketers and 110 international players.
Initially, 1,390 players registered for the IPL 2026 auction, but only 350 made the final cut. This group features 224 uncapped Indian players and 14 uncapped international players, enhancing the talent pool available for franchises.
Franchises will vie for a total of 77 available slots, with 31 of these designated for overseas players. The highest reserve price is set at Rs 2 crore, with 40 players opting for this price range.
Nine players have a reserve price of Rs 1.5 crore, while four players are listed at Rs 1.25 crore, and 17 players have set their base price at Rs 1 crore.
In the Rs 75 lakh category, 42 players are included, and four players have chosen Rs 50 lakh. Additionally, seven players are listed at Rs 40 lakh, with the largest group of 227 players priced at Rs 30 lakh.
Cameron Green, the Australian all-rounder, is anticipated to be a top pick, as many teams are in search of a powerful all-rounder. Notably, South Africa's Quinton de Kock, George Linde, and Sri Lanka's Dunith Wellalage have been added to the final player list after initially being excluded.
During the 'TATA IPL 2026 Auction War Room' discussion, JioStar expert Robin Uthappa shared insights on the bidding strategies of Kolkata Knight Riders for Cameron Green and the Chennai Super Kings' potential moves in the auction.
"I expected CSK to target a middle-order all-rounder, estimating their bid around Rs 25-28 crore. Realistically, I believe they might go up to Rs 20 crore to maintain flexibility for other player acquisitions. However, in mock auctions, I was prepared to bid up to Rs 35 crore for a player like Green. I envision him batting at No. 3," Uthappa remarked.
