The tournament wrapped up on Sunday, with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) clinching victory over Gujarat Titans (GT) by five wickets in the final match.
This season has been nothing short of extraordinary, showcasing numerous batting achievements. A staggering total of 27,450 runs were amassed throughout the tournament, establishing a new record for the highest runs in a single IPL edition, alongside an impressive runs-per-wicket ratio of 31.26.
Additionally, IPL 2026 recorded the highest run rate per over at 9.88, and it also featured an unprecedented number of boundaries, with 2,332 fours and 1,426 sixes, highlighting the dominance of batsmen this season.
Individual performances were remarkable, with a total of 15 centuries scored, including two by Sanju Samson of Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Teams frequently surpassed the 200-run mark, with 65 instances of such totals and 17 successful chases of 200 or more.

In the final match, Gujarat Titans batted first, managing to score only 155 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their 20 overs. Washington Sundar top-scored with 50 runs off 37 balls, while Nishant Sindhu contributed 20 runs. RCB's bowlers, including Rasikh Dar Salam (3/27), Bhuvneshwar Kumar (2/29), and Josh Hazlewood (2/37), consistently took wickets.
RCB began their innings strongly, with a partnership of 62 runs between Venkatesh Iyer (32 runs off 16 balls) and Virat Kohli. Although GT fought back, reducing RCB to 132/5 at one stage, Virat Kohli's unbeaten 75 runs off 42 balls, featuring nine fours and three sixes, led RCB to victory with two overs remaining. This triumph marks RCB's second IPL title and their fourth overall in Indian franchise cricket, which includes two Women’s Premier League (WPL) titles.
