PBKS team assistant coach Brad Haddin revealed his strategy to face local boy Ryan Parag ahead of their clash against RR. Rajasthan will host Punjab at the Baraspara Stadium in Guwahati on Wednesday, May 15. Punjab will want to go all out despite being at the bottom of the table. The franchise failed to qualify for the playoffs for the 10th straight season and will look to play with a more free spirit. While talking to the media ahead of the PBKS team's clash against RR, Haddin suggested that the franchise understood the threat that Parag could pose. However, Headin calculated that he had a 'secret weapon' in the name of Trevor Gonsalves. He has been the head coach of the Assam team in domestic cricket and assistant bowling coach with PBKS.

"If you look at Ryan's development over the last few years, he's just gotten better and better. This year, he's started winning games. But we're fortunate that we have a secret to deal with him in Trevor Gonsalves. The weapon is. He gave a lot of insight into it during the team meeting, so we have some plans.

Pollen rise in IPL 2024
Parag will return to his home ground in Guwahati after scoring 7 consecutive fifties for Assam in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. After scoring just 20 runs while batting at No. 6 against PBKS in Guwahati last season, Parag will be looking for redemption. He was promoted to the No. 4 position in the batting order and managed to repay the years of faith reposed in him by the Parag franchise. The 22-year-old is sixth in the Orange Cap race with 483 runs from 12 matches. He averages 60.38 with 4 fifties at a strike rate of 153.82.

RR will look to win the match against PBKS to clinch their place in the playoffs and ensure a top 2 spot. However, PBKS, with nothing to lose, will spoil the party for RR and make the race to the playoffs even more exciting. However, they have suffered a major blow as Kagiso Rabada and Liam Livingstone return home with injuries.
