CSK enters this match with a boost in confidence after breaking a three-match losing streak, recently securing a convincing 23-run victory over Delhi Capitals.
The standout performer in that match was Sanju Samson, who scored an impressive unbeaten 115 runs, supported by a quick 59 from rising star Ayush Mhatre, indicating that the five-time champions may have regained their form.
Conversely, KKR is in a challenging situation, being the only team yet to secure a win in the tournament, with three losses and one match affected by rain.
Rahane expressed optimism during the toss, stating, “We are looking to bowl first. The last game was promising for us, even though the outcome wasn’t favorable. The confidence gained from our performance is crucial. It’s essential to maintain belief and positivity, especially when facing difficulties. CSK's captain Ruturaj Gaikwad commented, “We would have opted to bowl first as well. The pitch hasn’t changed much, so it shouldn’t make a significant difference. Setting a high score in the first innings will be tough, but the surface looks promising. Defending 210 runs against a strong DC side boosted our confidence, and our fielding was commendable.
