Gujarat Titans Secure Victory Against Lucknow Super Giants

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India] - April 12: After leading his team to victory against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill praised his bowlers for their exceptional performance during the match.

With Krishna taking four wickets and both Gill and Jos Buttler scoring fifties, GT achieved their second win of the season in this away match against LSG. The bowlers delivered impressive spells, with Krishna claiming 4/28, Ashok Sharma 2/32, Rashid Khan 0/25, and Mohamed Siraj 0/19, which limited LSG to a total of 164/8, a target that GT chased down comfortably.

During the post-match interview, Gill remarked, “Our bowling in the powerplay was outstanding, and the pressure we maintained during the middle overs was remarkable. Rashid Khan has made my job much easier; he consistently brings us back into the game whenever another bowler is under pressure.”

He also highlighted Siraj's performance, noting the challenges of executing simple tasks during the powerplay, which Siraj managed effectively. “His bowling was crucial in getting us back into the match. Even though KG (Kagiso Rabada) conceded some runs, he was precise with his lengths,” Gill added.

Regarding the batting conditions, Gill acknowledged the difficulties faced and expressed his contentment with both his and Buttler's recent performances. “I’m thrilled to have back-to-back fifties alongside Jos,” he concluded.

Currently, GT holds the fifth position in the standings with two wins and two losses, totaling four points. LSG has dropped to sixth place, sharing the same win-loss record. After opting to bat first, LSG managed to score 164/8, with Aiden Markram being the only player to surpass 20 runs, scoring 30 off 21 balls, while Krishna's impressive 4/28 stood out. In response, fifties from Gill (56 off 40 balls) and Buttler (60 off 37 balls) guided GT to victory with seven wickets in hand and eight balls remaining.
