Gujarat Titans Triumph Over Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL Clash
Sai Kishore Praises Shubman Gill's Spin Batting Skills
In a recent match at Eden Gardens, Gujarat Titans (GT) spinner Sai Kishore lauded his captain Shubman Gill for his exceptional ability to handle spin bowling. This commendation came after Gill's impressive half-century against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) during the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Monday evening.
Kishore remarked, "When it comes to facing spin, Shubman is truly remarkable. His leadership provides me with valuable insights on how to approach my bowling. As a bowler who depends on the pitch, the ability to turn the ball is crucial, but for finger spinners like me, those small tips on what to do are incredibly helpful. This has been particularly advantageous in this match."
He also expressed that Gill, along with Sai Sudharsan and Jos Buttler, adapted well to the challenging pitch conditions, making batting appear effortless.
Kishore observed that while the pitch initially seemed favorable for batting, it became more difficult during the second innings. He stated, "Regardless of the desire to hit the ball hard, a tricky wicket tests your skills. Shubman, Sai, and Jos have all batted in a manner that makes it look easy. Watching them, I thought the pitch was good, but it felt different when we bowled, as it started gripping and turning."
KKR faced another setback in their title defense, as their batting lineup struggled against the formidable GT, who secured a 39-run victory at Eden Gardens. After being invited to bat first, GT posted a score of 198/3, thanks to stellar performances from Shubman Gill (90), Sai Sudharsan (52), and a quick finish by Jos Buttler (41*).
In response, KKR could only muster 159/8, with notable bowling performances from Prasidh Krishna (2/25) and Rashid Khan (2/25), while their captain Ajinkya Rahane managed to score 50 runs. With three wins and five losses, KKR has slipped to seventh place, while GT leads the table with 12 points from six victories and two defeats.
