Gujarat Titans Prepare for Key Matchup
New Chandigarh (Punjab) - Ahead of the IPL 2026 Qualifier 2, Parthiv Patel, the Assistant Coach for Gujarat Titans (GT), commended the impressive performance of Rajasthan Royals' (RR) Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. He emphasized that GT is devising targeted strategies to effectively counter the young batter.
Patel mentioned that the team has meticulously analyzed footage of Sooryavanshi and, similar to other teams, aims to dismiss him early in the game.
While he refrained from disclosing specific tactics, Patel noted that the execution of their plans during the match would be crucial to their success.
Gujarat Titans are set to face Rajasthan Royals in the second qualifier on Friday, vying for a chance to compete in the final against the reigning champions, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Patel addressed the media on the eve of this significant clash.
"I feel optimistic about his current form. Our goal is to get him out early in the match. Like all teams, we have reviewed the footage, and we hope to implement our strategy effectively. However, the specifics will remain undisclosed until we are on the field," Patel stated.
He further praised Sooryavanshi's remarkable talent, saying, "His performance has been outstanding, and it's exciting to witness. From our perspective, we hope he doesn't find his rhythm tomorrow."
This season, Sooryavanshi has been in exceptional form, amassing 680 runs in 15 innings with an average of 45.33 and a striking rate of 242.85. His achievements include a century and four half-centuries, with a top score of 103. He has hit 55 fours and 65 sixes from 280 balls faced.
