Gujarat Titans Dominate with Batting Prowess

Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], May 21: A remarkable century partnership between captain Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan, along with a stellar half-century from Jos Buttler, propelled the Gujarat Titans (GT) to a formidable score of 229/4 in their 20 overs against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Thursday.

To keep their playoff aspirations alive, CSK must chase down a challenging target of 230 runs.

Batting first after being put in by CSK, the opening duo of Gill and Sudharsan provided a strong start, aggressively targeting the bowlers and hitting three boundaries off Spencer Johnson in the fourth over.

In the seventh over, Gill hit a six off Noor Ahmed, marking his 6,000 runs in T20 cricket. He concluded the over with another six, bringing the score to 78 after seven overs. Gill reached his half-century in a mere 23 balls, striking five fours and three sixes.

Sudharsan joined in the fun during the ninth over, hitting a six over deep square leg and following it up with a four through third man.
