Gujarat Titans Triumph in IPL Clash

In a thrilling encounter at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat Titans (GT) emerged victorious against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) by four wickets during the IPL 2026 season on Thursday.

Shubman Gill and Jos Buttler were the standout performers with the bat, leading GT to successfully chase down a target of 156 runs in just 15.4 overs. Earlier, the Titans' bowlers, including Arshad Khan, Rashid Khan, and Jason Holder, effectively limited RCB to a modest total.

GT's bowling attack was impressive, restricting RCB to 155 runs. Arshad Khan took 3 wickets for 22 runs in 3.2 overs, while Rashid Khan and Jason Holder contributed with 2 wickets each, allowing RCB to struggle throughout their innings.

In the chase, Shubman Gill set the tone early, scoring 43 runs off just 18 balls, while Jos Buttler added 39 runs from 19 balls, helping GT get off to a strong start.

Gill's explosive batting included a remarkable over against Josh Hazlewood, where he scored 24 runs, hitting three boundaries and two sixes.

RCB's Bhuvneshwar Kumar managed to take the first wicket by dismissing Sai Sudharsan for 6 runs in the third over. Buttler, however, capitalized on a dropped catch by Jitesh Sharma, hitting a six immediately after.

Despite losing Gill to Bhuvneshwar in the fifth over, GT maintained their momentum, reaching 69 runs for 2 wickets by the end of the Powerplay.

Buttler continued to dominate, hitting two sixes off Suyash Sharma's first over, pushing GT's score to 86/2 after 7 overs.

Although Bhuvneshwar dismissed Buttler in the eighth over, GT had already crossed the 90-run mark. A partnership between Rahul Tewatia and Jason Holder further solidified their position, bringing the score to 141/6 before Holder was dismissed.

Ultimately, Tewatia and Rashid Khan guided GT to victory, finishing the match at 156 runs for 6 wickets.

Earlier, RCB had a shaky batting performance after a promising start. Despite a solid opening partnership led by Virat Kohli, who scored 28 runs off 13 balls, RCB struggled to build on their initial momentum and were bowled out for 155 runs in 19.2 overs.

RCB's innings began well, with Kohli hitting five boundaries in the second over. However, the tide turned quickly as Mohammed Siraj dismissed Jacob Bethell shortly after, and Rabada removed Kohli, leading to a batting collapse.

Arshad Khan and Jason Holder continued to apply pressure, taking crucial wickets and leaving RCB at 91/5 by the end of the 10th over. Despite a brief recovery, RCB lost their last wickets quickly, with Venkatesh Iyer and Bhuvneshwar Kumar managing to guide the team to a total of 155.

For GT, Mohammed Siraj and Kagiso Rabada each took a wicket, while Arshad Khan's impressive performance with 3 wickets for 22 runs stood out.
