Gujarat Titans Begin IPL 2026 Preparations
On March 18, the Gujarat Titans (GT) kicked off their training for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The session was led by the newly appointed batting coach, Matthew Hayden.
Key players including Sai Sudharshan, Anuj Rawat, Washington Sundar, and Shahrukh Khan were among those who participated in the training activities.
With the first phase of the IPL 2026 schedule now public, the Titans, under the captaincy of Shubman Gill, will launch their campaign against the Punjab Kings in Mullanpur on March 31. Their inaugural home match is set for April 4 against the Rajasthan Royals at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Following the match against Rajasthan, the Titans will travel to Delhi to compete against the Delhi Capitals at Arun Jaitley Stadium on April 8, and then face the Lucknow Super Giants on April 12 at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow.
Last season, the Gujarat Titans made it to the IPL 2025 playoffs but were eliminated by the Mumbai Indians in the Eliminator. The team's success was largely attributed to the outstanding performances of their top-order batsmen, including Sai Sudharsan (759 runs), Shubman Gill (650 runs), and Jos Buttler (538 runs).
Since their inception in 2022, the Gujarat Titans have established themselves as a formidable force in the IPL, reaching the playoffs in three out of their first four seasons and clinching the championship in their debut year.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed that the first phase of IPL 2026 will take place from March 28 to April 12, 2026.
The 19th edition of this premier T20 league will kick off with the defending champions, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), facing off against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
